So wirkt es:How it works:Mode d’action :Zo werkt het: Domperidone blocks dopamine receptors in a vomiting trigger area in the brainstem, which lies outside the blood-brain barrier. It also accelerates gastric emptying. The drug barely crosses the blood-brain barrier.
- For nausea or vomiting that only requires short-term treatment
- If no heart disease, prolonged QT interval, or moderate or severe liver disease is known
- If no medications are taken that affect the heart rhythm or inhibit the breakdown of domperidone.

Anwendung:Use:Utilisation :Gebruik: One tablet up to three times daily before meals, not exceeding 30 mg per day and usually for no more than 1 week.

Domperidone can rarely cause dangerous heart rhythm disturbances, especially in people over 60, at doses above 30 mg per day, and in combination with certain other medications. If you experience a rapid heartbeat, irregular heartbeat, or fainting, stop taking the medication immediately and seek medical help.
